Wacky Wire Critterbugs, 2013

Hand cranked sculptures, created in a 1-day workshop with young people from the Yankalilla community, timed with the Leafy Sea Dragon Festival.

“Trades” Exhibition, Jam Factory, 2008

“Pearls Before Swine” A water powered pig that consumes pearls and passes sausages! An exhibition combining the skills of an artist with a tradesperson; in this case my brother Rod Archer, a plumber.

WomAdelaide. 2005

World Music Festival. Archer’s Arcadia, a collection of animated interactive sculptures, housed within a carnival style tent, and viewed by thousands of people over the three day event.

1) Butterfingers
280mm high. Made from clay, wood, metal and feathers.
Hand cranked. The bird flaps it’s “wings”, and swings head from side to side.

2) Flea Circus
250mm high. Made from clay, wood and fibres.
Hand cranked. The flea sways and moves head from side to side.

2000mm high. Painted Banner.

AUTOMATO - 1993

A solo exhibition held in the main gallery of the Jam Factory, Contemporary Craft and Design Centre Adelaide, South Australia.

Fisherwoman
650mm high. Made from clay, metal and hair
Pendulum powered, the figure swings back and forth.

The Marriage Machine
380mm high. Made from wood, paper,clay and rubber.
Hand cranked, the objects in the box spin as does the wheel at the top. Has a music box sound.

A solo exhibition held at The Bay Discovery Centre, Glenelg, South Australia.

Mockingbird
350mm high. Made from clay, wood and sand.
Hand cranked. The figure and the bird raise their arms and wings simultaneously.

Skull prototype
1900 mm high. Made from wood, plaster,plastic glass and electronic components.
A Coin activated Fortune Teller machine. The Skull chatters, hands move, fortune wheel spins and cards appear from inside the machine.

Gluttony
500mm high. Made from wood, glass, papier mache and clay.
Hand cranked. The figure's belly opens and snaps shut, has a ratchet sound.

Gypsy Vardoe
600mm high. Made from wood, metal, clay and glass
Hand cranked. The figure raises its head and arms, the artist's face appears in the crystal ball.
A Chicken pops up in the oven and the skull spins.

Weekendus Commencus
400high. Made from wood, clay, plaster, plaster mixture, sand and shells.
Hand cranked. The shell opens to reveal the figure that then raises the can. Music box sound.
